This interactive one-day workshop will help you develop your scientific writing skills. You will learn valuable tips and helpful information to ensure that your message reaches your target audience with maximum impact.

Topics covered include the basics of writing a scientific manuscript and how to create figures and tables that support your results (rather than confuse your reader). We will also talk about the features that are common to well-written, high-impact articles.

Participants are encouraged to bring examples of their own writing, figures, or tables for constructive feedback in a friendly setting.

At this workshop you will:

• Learn techniques to develop your scientific writing skills;
• Learn how to visualize your results in the most efficient way;
• Learn what makes a good article good, and how to make a good article great;
• Understand the structure of good communication at the level of sentences, paragraphs, abstracts, and entire articles.

Who is this workshop for: PhD candidates in the first half (year 1 and 2) of their PhD trajectory.

Prerequisites: This workshop has no prerequisites other than working knowledge of English.
