Workshop description:
Due to their low immunogenicity, high affinity/specificity and flexibility towards biotechnological engineering, antibodies are probably the most widely used vehicles for molecular diagnosis, imaging and therapy.
The workshop ‘Immuno-Imaging and Molecular Therapy’ aims to bring together national and international experts in the fields of antibody-engineering, clinical and preclinical nuclear imaging, tracer design, image acquisition and reconstruction, (radio)chemistry, targeted radionuclide therapy, optical imaging, immunogenicity and intellectual property. Altogether, a full overview of the research topic ‘immunotheranostics’ will be provided through the organization of 13 lectures and 2 half-day hands-on sessions. In particular, a special focus will be put on nanobodies as an example of engineered antibody vehicles for noninvasive imaging and targeted therapy.

For whom?
This workshop is targeted towards anybody interested in the broad topic of 'immune-theranostics'. Basic knowledge of radiation, biotechnology, biochemistry, medicine and engineering is required. Masters in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, (Bio)Chemistry, Medicine or Pharmacy, PhD students, technologists and postdoctoral fellows working or interested in this field of research are encouraged to participate.

Venue:
The workshop will be held at the Health Campus of the Free University Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Laarbeeklaan 103, B-1090 Brussels, Belgium.
The lectures will be held in the seminar room of the doctoral school, building E ground floor.

Lunches, refreshments, discussions, practical sessions and the central meeting point will be the seminar room of the ICMI laboratory, building K ground floor (see http://www.icmibrussels.be/AboutUs/Directions.html)
